Title is Irrelevant

June 24, 2009

Yes, people! Have finally made a new film, and I made it five days ago! Well, yes, another testament to my awful blogging habits. Anyway, you can view the film on YouTube, here, and sometime in the near future (between now and the time I die), I will put it on the Films page.

Now, it’s just a matter of time before I start working on another film; I have several ideas circulating around in my head, each of them as random as the next. Except for one, which is a more serious plot. I’ll keep you posted on any upcoming projects.

Some somethings…

June 10, 2009

Just a couple little updates. Since I started really doing my school again, I’ve been feeling the urge to make another film. So, for the past few days, I have slowly been animating it, and it’s progressing pretty well; I hit a snag last night, trying to animate something I don’t think has ever been animated in a brickfilm before, so I think I’ll practice animating it today, then do the real thing tonight.

In Marble Blast Platinum news, I have started level building again. My current WIP is coming along nicely; I don’t have a date set, though, because now that all my level building stuff is on the family computer, I don’t have as much time to build as I did before. Which is actually a good thing, I think, but will mean longer times between each of my levels.

And to finish things off, I’ve messed around with the widgets again, and I’ve got a shiny new BricksInMotion link there, courtesy of Philip Heinrich, BiM admin. I might get around to making my own links to my YouTube channel, and other interesting sites.

And that’s all for today.

And then there were… SQUIRRELS!!!

June 4, 2009

If you can’t tell by the title, I just recently saw Up, on Monday, and as you probably already know, it is great. Definitely one of Pixar’s saddest films, and violent for a Pixar film (hence the PG rating), but it had a great story, and Muntz was a great villain, in my opinion. So, I’ll give it four out of four stars. I wish I could give it a better review, but I fail at those.

I also failed to mention that I saw Angels & Demons last Tuesday. It was severely underrated, and I did not see the twist coming. And that’s all I’ll say; for reasons mentioned above.

In other news, I’ll need about $300-$400. I’ve gotten introduced to Sins of a Solar Empire, a game any true RTS fan should check out; I’m planning on upgrading my computer with a card from the Nividia GeForce 9000 series, which I will plug into a new monitor, and there are two new LEGO titles I coming out that I am looking forward to; LEGO Indiana Jones: The Adventure Continues and LEGO Harry Potter.

If I have any extra money leftover, maybe I’ll get myself a mini-fridge…

Dot-com or dot-org, that is the question.

So, after a long break from blogging, in which I haven’t had much to say, I decided to post something, even though I didn’t have anything to say, really.

Now, I have something to say.

So, I typed “wordpress.org” into my address bar, hit enter, and was bombarded (well, maybe that is a bit of an exaggeration) with all this stuff about downloading some WordPress program, website hosting, ect. But no login area. After several clicks, I found that I was supposed to go to wordpress.com to sign in. Okay, fine, but there should at least be a bit of distinction. All there is on the wordpress.org home page about the free blogs is “Or, for the ultimate in ease of use, get a free blog on WordPress.com.” No, I’m not new to blogging. Yes, I would like to go to my free blog, but no, I don’t want to have to go to the “get-a-new-blog” page to get to it. Maybe I’m just ranting, and there is really no point to this post, but I really think there should at least be a picture-link, near the top of the page, that clearly states “Do you already have a free WordPress.com blog? Sign in here!”

In other news, while I am trying to get myself back into brickfilming, and just find many other things to fill my time with, I would like to pick up another hobby; a new one or an old one (hint, hint, HINT).

WIP Update

March 28, 2009

If you haven’t noticed already, in the Flickr widget, I’ve been working on the set and camera angle for my upcoming film, which has no name yet. Here’s a shot, for you.

This is the latest shot, and mostly likely what the actual film will be like. I’ve still got some stuff left to do before animating, such as fill in the background behind the left window, and do all the voice work, but that’s pretty much it. Hopefully, the film will be done by Saturday; if not, the film will not be released until April, as I am going down to Idaho for a wedding. I’ll keep you posted on any interesting updates.

Where’d I put my Swiffer?

March 24, 2009

As you can see, I have just made a couple changes in the Widgets section; I added a Flickr widget, and updated Current Project to show what I’m currently working on. Hopefully I’ll get around to updating the Level and Film pages, and anything else that needs updating.

Now that that is said, I’ve been wondering. What the heck is Twitter, and why is it so popular? I might look into getting myself one, just for the sake of having one.

It just occurred to me…

March 19, 2009

It just occurred to me that I have a blog, and that maybe I should start posting in it more. I don’t know if anyone really reads this, however, so I’m going to make this blog a little bit more interesting. So, I am going to start pitching ideas for my upcoming films on this blog. Hopefully, it will help me figure out which films I should be working on, or decide which films I should scrap or fix up, plus you guys get an insight into what I am working on. So, let’s get started. These are ideas I currently have circling around my brain right now, but can’t decide which one to start filming.

Untitled Damsel in Distress Film
This film takes a different approach to the Damsel in Distress scenario; instead of the knight saving the princess from the tower, the princess saves herself, while, unaware of the princess’ actions, the hero and villain duke it out in very perilous situations, such as the edge of a very tall cliff. The princess encounters her own problems, but somehow gets around them unharmed.

Commercial Break
This is one that I’ve been trying to get started for a while now, but I’m just not sure if it’s working. It’s a film starring Josh from Josh’s New Webcam. Josh is intensely engaged in a thrilling action movie on the televison. During the commercial break, however, he realizes that he is completely out of soda. With only two minutes to spare, Josh has to descend all the way down an apartment building, buy a soda from the shop across the street, and then get back up to his apartment, dodging obstacles along the way.

Top Ten Ways to Save Money During the Economic Crisis
One man has discovered the best ways to save money during the economic crisis. Fortunately, it involves eating more Ramen for dinner. Unfortunately, it also involves shaving yourself bald.

I’ve got other ideas, but I’ll save those for later. Anyway, just tell me what you think about the ideas, and any suggestions you might have for improving them. Thanks!
