Summer Movies

April 21, 2009

Okay, not technically all summer movies, but it’s pretty close.

Up
Okay, any animation fanatic, or anyone at all, for that matter, should be looking forward to this movie. I know I am. With Pixar’s excellent track record, and the positive comments about it (no reviews, because not many have technically seen the whole film yet), including some people calling it a “tear-jerker,” (rare for animated films), I can’t wait much longer. I constantly find myself watching the trailer (which I have stored on my computer, and will have on my iPod, when I get one), which only pumps me up even more. We may already have a big contender for the 2010 Best Picture award, considering how close WALL•E seemed to be to getting nominated.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
I was very surprised when I found out that HBP is rated PG, considering it is one of the darkest of the novels. I mean, considering who dies at the end, the Inferi, all the attacks, and the fact that the last two films were PG-13, I was expecting this one to be as well. That said, I’m sure this will be a very exciting film, and I can’t wait to see it.

Transformers 2
Okay, I admit it. I’m only looking forward to this movie because of the giant robots. I am a guy, after all.

Angels and Demons
I haven’t seen much about this movie; however, The Da Vinci Code was a great movie, and I’m sure this one will be, too.

In other, brickfilming related news, that line my voice actor (who will remain anonymous until the film’s release) recorded recently will not appear in the film, because after running through the film in my head, I realized that line, funny as I thought it was, would have ruined the ending to the film. I now have something in place that I think makes the film much awesomer, in an odd sort of way.

Please hold…

April 18, 2009

I swear, nothing interesting is happening, except the person I am working with for my upcoming film recorded one of his lines today, and sent it to me.

Just to make this post interesting, if you haven’t already, go visit TVTropes.org. You can hold me completely responsible for any amount of time you spend there over an hour, but it is worthwhile for anyone in the writing business, film or otherwise. I suggest looking up “The Noodle Incident”, “Fridge Logic”, and “Crowning Moment of Awesome”.

It just occurred to me…

March 19, 2009

It just occurred to me that I have a blog, and that maybe I should start posting in it more. I don’t know if anyone really reads this, however, so I’m going to make this blog a little bit more interesting. So, I am going to start pitching ideas for my upcoming films on this blog. Hopefully, it will help me figure out which films I should be working on, or decide which films I should scrap or fix up, plus you guys get an insight into what I am working on. So, let’s get started. These are ideas I currently have circling around my brain right now, but can’t decide which one to start filming.

Untitled Damsel in Distress Film
This film takes a different approach to the Damsel in Distress scenario; instead of the knight saving the princess from the tower, the princess saves herself, while, unaware of the princess’ actions, the hero and villain duke it out in very perilous situations, such as the edge of a very tall cliff. The princess encounters her own problems, but somehow gets around them unharmed.

Commercial Break
This is one that I’ve been trying to get started for a while now, but I’m just not sure if it’s working. It’s a film starring Josh from Josh’s New Webcam. Josh is intensely engaged in a thrilling action movie on the televison. During the commercial break, however, he realizes that he is completely out of soda. With only two minutes to spare, Josh has to descend all the way down an apartment building, buy a soda from the shop across the street, and then get back up to his apartment, dodging obstacles along the way.

Top Ten Ways to Save Money During the Economic Crisis
One man has discovered the best ways to save money during the economic crisis. Fortunately, it involves eating more Ramen for dinner. Unfortunately, it also involves shaving yourself bald.

I’ve got other ideas, but I’ll save those for later. Anyway, just tell me what you think about the ideas, and any suggestions you might have for improving them. Thanks!

Hey Laydeez!

April 8, 2008

Here comes my newest film, “Hey Laydeez!”, made for THAC 5A.

And since I’m posting a YouTube video, I’m going this time to say that the YouTube Partner program looks interesting. Recently, fellow brickfilmer Nathan “Lord_Of_The_LEGO” Wells signed up for it, and sparked my interest. I have read the requirements, and it looks like I’ll need to upload more videos. So I’m think about doing just that.

Comeback

March 4, 2008

I only just noticed that Dunechaser from Brothers-Brick.com linked to my blog in one of the recent posts, when I suggested adding something in. So I thought I’d update the blog for those who are new. It’s been a long time, so I should update it anyway.

Brickfilms.com is down (again) as I write this, so I am constantly quoting Nathan “Lord_Of_The_LEGO” Wells, “I want my brickfilms fix!”

I have recently been working on my FAR entry, and I am making good progress. I have a set partially built, which I will post pictures of later, both on here and on Brickfilms. I might also post them on Classic-Castle, so I can get help from the MOC pros.

Speaking of Classic-Castle, I recently met CC member Matt DeBar at a weekend event called Winter Weekend. We had fun talking about various LEGO related things, and various CC members. We have yet to meet online, however.

As for my custom levels, I have made about 5-6 levels since MBP came out, and I will try to update the custom levels page with those soon.

Well, we come to the end of what seems to be my longest post on this blog. I’ll try to update this more often.
